I am new at bladsmithin, but I'm very curios to know what the difference is between damasteel and Damascus?

Damascus has become a generic term for any pattern welded steel.

Damasteel is a specific brand of Damascus made by a specific person/people. It is also stainless (not sure if they make high carbon damascus at damasteel or not).
