Does anyone recognize this knife? My wife found it in an estate sale. It has Springer engraved on the handle. Other markings are IMCO, c.16 (on one side of the bolster and c.12 on the other side). Handle is bone. Knife is approx. 7.75 inches long, blade is approx. 3.25". Thanks for your help!

Your knife was made in Solingen, Germany by Bontgen & Sabin between 1950 & 1958 For the US importer IMco.
The bolsters are used for removing shells that get stuck in 12 ga. & 16 ga. shotguns.
It appears to be in reasonably good condition.
    Is the spring intact?
    These are desirable knives.

Thanks very much for the info (especially about the shell extractors!). Yes, the spring is intact. My wife is in the estate sale business. When items like this come along, she usually sells them on Ebay. What do you think a good starting price would be? Thanks!

FYI , automatic knives are listed as prohibited items on eBay: Firearms, weapons and knives policy.

Starting price of $100 would be good.
I can probably sell the knife for you if you want.
