I've been a knife collector, both folders & fixed blades, since the late 1980s. Additionally, my attention was / is focused on "sporting knives," not tactical & not hacking "scandi" type blades. I purchased my first Randall Knife in the '90s - and I did so, primarily, because I was tired of non-tapering blades(no distal taper)and poorly crafted sheaths. I had no idea what it was referred to, but, I wanted a taper, in thickness, either from the hilt to the tip or from the mid-blade, swedged area, to the tip. I mention this in this particular forum because the taper that I'm referring to is quite common in folders, particularly clip blades. My question is what is this particular taper, in blade thickness, from midway down the blade - to the tip, referred to? Again, this is commonly used on slippies / folders and fixed blades of a myriad of sizes. Thank You.
