As I understand it (perhaps incorrectly); a Scandi grind has a slight, maybe micro, bevel whereas a zero grind Scandi is just that, totally ground flat from main bevel to the edge. The later is considered by some to be sharper, but IMHO doesn't hold its edge as well. I sharpen my Scandis to a zero bevel, then strop them a couple times to remove any burrs, etc. and give it a tiny micro secondary bevel. My knives will go months of hard use without resharpening. Remember it is always easier to sharpen a sharp knife that just needs a bit of honing than to have to sharpen at really dull blade. Takes more steel off also.
