I notice that, since the recent crash, my sig line has reverted to one I used in the past....no complaints.

But, I wonder, did we revert to an old member list?
That is, did we lose membership records of people who registered in the past year or so?

As I said...curious. Nothing more.

Based solely on my observations, I believe the answer is "Yes".
At least one person has explicitly mentioned having to re-register, and several members who registered in the past year and posted with some frequency have been absent.
-----
I just checked for the username of a young man I referred here recently from another forum. Although he made several posts last month, the forum has no record of his rather unique username. I believe that is conclusive.
Anyone who registered in the last year will have to start over again.

Do you think it might be of help to post a sticky to advise lost members?
I imagine most would have given up...but one or two might benefit.

It appears to be even worse; I registered between 1.5 - 2 years ago and all my info is gone as well! Being in IT for 3 decades - I wish that was an exaggeration, but I am indeed that old - means I know that anything considered important is always backed up. If it's really important you have two copies. User information seems like it should fall into the second category. At the very least, the first one.

I'm not in the position to make 500 posts a year - so losing all my stuff isn't quite as critical as doing the same thing to a person who is very active - but it's still frustrating to no longer have my post count, subscribed threads, gallery, etc. This shouldn't happen to critical data.

That's not good. I sympathize.

But, do you think there is a possibility you might have gotten your old details wrong?
I wouldn't take much. Especially if you didn't come here a lot.
If that is the case
maybe a supermod could help.

And don't worry about getting old...old age doesn't last forever.

I checked with Ben already, but no-go. He's actually the one who told me my info was gone.

Ain't that the truth! It lasts up to the point where they start shoveling dirt on you...

BTW, isn't it kinda early for you to be up? Don't you sleep either?
