It weighs in at 729g made out of 5160 steel. Cutting edge is a touch over 12", and overall length is 18 ¾”. The blade is ¼” thick at the stainless bolster tapering out to 1/8” by the tip.
Handle is my own experiment of beige, and black denim soaked in epoxy then wrapped as tight as i could get it. Much like home made Micarta without it being pressed.
BTW the cho notch was a bugger, and fun at the same time. That and some of my original hammer marks were left in the blade just for fun. Most of the blade was encased in refractory cement to help with the edge quench. The wavy line might be brought again if I etch it, but…
