also worth mentioning the wa kiritsuke is double beveled so it is really a flat gyuto with a different tip.

G series? Isn't that the low end VG-10 line? I thought the wa version used the super secret steel version...

Everything Nenohi/Nenox uses seems to be some super secret steel recipe. The only thing that has slipped out corporate communications in the last few years was that the steel in the high end Nenox - S1, Red handle & Corian - was going to be upgraded from VG1 to VG10.

I've talked with several people who use Nenox knives... And based on the edge retention and ease of sharpening, I highly doubt that it is VG 1, 10, 1s or any other variation. Then again, that's just my opinion.

One of the fine people from korin informed me it was the steel as in the g series knives and that the corian and red bone handled knives use a different sercret steel

not that is really matters because i will be buying this knife when sale time rolls in but now i am confused by korins email they say the steel is similar to the g series knives and the s1 and such use a higher grade steel .... but the list the kiritsuke ar hrc 61 and the g series at hrc 59-60
