I'm a bartender in Denver and a regular of mine came into the bar yesterday with this. He found it on the sidewalk by a supermarket on the way in (not in the best neighborhood in town). This is a switchblade knife...not an assisted opener. You push a button and the blade pops right out, pretty quickly too. Being knowledgeable in knives he knew it was crap and illegal so he wasn't interested in keeping it. We traded him a couple of beers for it....not that he came to us trying to pawn it onto us. There is so much blade play and it seems so poorly made that I'm weary of even playing with it too much. Don't wanna send the blade flying. Probably gonna get thrown away on the next shift here.
No way! Hold on to it ! That's the new HD auto from Benchmade and it's sure to be a winner!
Seriously though, it looks like it would break if you looked at it too hard. I'd trade it for a couple of beers also. But I guess it depends on what kind of beers!
Wish I could.....I gave it a fairly decent examination and the USA and harley logo are the only markings. And to be honest.....I'm not even sure if it is a real harley logo or just one that happens to look pretty close. At the bar we have no problem giving bums the couple bucks they ask for when they find a knife on the streets or trade a customer a beer for a similar knife. We figure its in our best interests to keep knives out of the hands of people who may cause us or our customers legitimate harm. The majority of these street people who find the knives are hard core drug users, often mentally not right, and most are criminals of one sort or another.
Thank you for the legal advise sir, however, this knife is really such a piece of junk that I don't really want to have anything to do with it. It makes me nervous just to open it. I don't have much experience with autos but the blade does open pretty quickly and with a bit of force.......truly afraid of the blade becoming a flying projectile.
