I ordered a 7.5 sun "sfgz" funayaki -paid in full- and was not even given an estimate as to how long it would take. Got me both curious and nervous...

Im not trying to crap out another long carter thread, just wanted some simple, succinct info from yous that've ordered customs from him in the past.

What kind of knife did you order?

When was the order placed?

How long did it take to receive your custom blade?

thanks

Your best bet is to ask the maker. His wait list likely varies wildly.

From past experience you are likely looking at about 3-6 months. He doesn't make that many in that length, and all tend to be "custom". I wouldn't be nervous at all, I've got a few of his knives and never had a problem other than the wait, which is very short as compared to other custom makers. Just goes with the territory. No point in jumping the gun.

...ugh.

I was just thinking that I wanted to try a Carter Funi, but I've also been trying not to buy too many random knives.

I wish he wouldn't use sun as a measuring unit. Since he is selling to U.S. customers it is confusing. At least it confuses me.
