Top 5 non custom/individually made folding knives.
Must be mass produced and commonly available for retail purchase(ie Cold Steel, Gerber, Buck etc).
The best as in all round (not specifically just sharpest, strongest etc) and for general utility/outdoors use.
Can be top 5 in no order or 1st best down to 5th place, up to you, just make sure you mention which.
My list will be pretty crap as I havent got a huge collection, but I do get to play with lots at work, id have to say: (in particular order)
1. Buck Alpha Hunter
2. Columbia River M16
3. Sypderco/Byrd Raven
4. Gerber Paraframes
5. Buck Hilo
What do you guys reckon? (and no I dont want to hear why my list is crap, or why one knife isnt as good as another, I just wanna ask you knife veterans your opinion so I can learn more!)

How can we do that if you restrict what we say?
Would you like to know how long a piece of string is, too?

haha sorry, I meant as in: "im not really posting this to list my favourite knives im posting this to see the favourites of those more knowledgeable than me" (as in id rather people discuss their own choices not mine as is prone to happening on forums)

Not sure what you mean by "mass produced" and "retail purchase" but I would list these amongst the best I've handled
Chris Reeve - Sebenza
Spyderco Military
Spyderco Endura
Paul Knives Protector
Benchmade 710
CRKT M16-10 Ti
Buck 110
Cold Steel Hatamoto
I'm sure there are a lot of others (Emerson, Strider, Bradley, Kershaw) that would make the list but I haven't handled them.
apparently I havent made myself very clear lol, sorry but I thought "mass produced/retail" was pretty obvious. I mean as in "not obscure local knife makers work, or thousand dollar custom jobs, just normal "boring" brand names and readily recognisable or available folders".

The reason I asked is that the Sebenza is mass produced but because of the attention to fit and finish is classed as semi-custom. It is however available thru selected retail outlets - although I don't expect you'll be seeing them in Wallmart
...just normal "boring" brand names and readily recognisable or available folders...
I don't think that has been established.
What about "less-than-mass" production folders like Fallkniven or GEC? Or are we limited to knives available in major retail outlets (Wally world, Cabelas, etc)?
