    Hi guys

Finished my Osage orange walking stick.
Figured if it did not turn out I could use the wood for Barkie grips.

Sealed it with Spar urethane. It is still pretty green inside. I always stamp the year somewhere on the shaft. Double strike on the 2 in 2009.
    HARD wood.

    (Larry, stop it )

Clamped it down to get a more solid strike for the number stamps.

Very happy with stick. Have more work to do on my picture taking.

    Steve

Click for bigger harder wood. (I stole that from

    Big Mike )

    Thank you Bruce, kind sir

I am not an artist but THEY ARE FUN to make.

Handy for those times you have to fend off the loving attention of four or two legged critters.

I very much like Osage orange.

Looks good! Don't think most people know how much work can go into one until they've made a few.

OK I need to know where I can get some osage to work with. Several places I have looked turned out to be a bust. Would prefer staffs to sticks. Any ideas folks?
