I don't think anyone called the story into question.

    Unless I missed something?

Yes, all get the Mk3Mod0. Why? Each one costs the Navy $5. They are also authorized to purchase the SOG (which none are) and the MPK (which they still are).

    • CRYIN TIME Said:
SQT (SEAL QUALIFICATION TRAINING) YOU ARE ISSUED YOUR NAVY SEAL TRIDENT AND.....A KABAR KNIFE WITH YOUR CLASS NUMBER AND THE NAME OF A SEAL WHO HAS GIVEN HIS LIFE FOR HIS COUNTRY. ON THE REVERSE SIDE OF THE BLADE IS THE NAVY SEAL TRIDENT. I'M NOT A SEAL OR EVEN A VETERAN. BUT I DO HAVE ONE AND THEY ARE REAL.

    You mean BUD/S?
    http://www.seal.navy.mil/seal/buds....

I used to do A LOT of work with the SEALS in San Diego back in the 1990's and knew a lot of the BUDS trainers. I have heard of the Trident, but never the KABAR. They get the MK3MOD0 as standard issue and once they get assigned to a team/platoon, they get their special equipment.

Here is a link to their recruiting site...
It mentions their EQUIPMENT, no mention of any knives. Proof that SEALS do not carry knives!!! So therefore, no Official SEAL knife since SEALs do not carry knives!!!

    Hows that logic?

    I know a seal.

    He carries a knife.

    It is a utility knife.

    6" blade

    Nothing special.

But it works for him quite well.

Welcome to knifeforums arrowstorm...its great to have you with us. Thanks for sharing the pix.

I don't think anyone ever said SEALs don't carry knives...the whole thread is about if there is an "official" SEAL knife.

And while we are at it....Who is Axelson?
