A better solution might be getting a folding e-tool instead

You might wanna hang on to that CS entrencher ...
I bought a folder e-tool for my bug-out bag (which I always take campin' with me) and tried to dig a small latrine hole with it ... had to throw it away ... the folding mechanism was way too weak and not repairable ... solid might be better IMHO

Excellent review!

The Merlin is a sleeper. Not many people appreciate its versatility.

Little River, thanks for bringing this back to the top. I've been looking for this review and didn't remember where I read it. Amazing review, Tim, all my questions answered!

I think they went under the Red River brand. I believe you have the Elk Skinner (top) and the Scalper. I bought several of these, including one called the North American Hunter, re-handled them with moose antler slabs and gave one to my best hunting buddy and another to my Dad. Think of them as Moras on steroids. Great cutters!
