Neo, I'm completely agree with you.

Mr. Jukka Hankala is probably one of the best knifemakers and blacksmiths in the entire Scandinavia.

Here is my recent purchase from him:

    - "Lastu" and his "Big Brother", in Böhler-Uddeholm Silversteel K510

    - "Ikaris" hunter & skinner, in RWL-34

    - "Sääski" damascus hunter

    Regards! ......... Senad

    Thanks Steve!

There is a whole bunch of top-quality knifemakers and bladesmiths in Norden which do not have a web-site (what is a great pitty!) and I contact them by phone.

But these few links could be a good start-point for the search of scandinavian knifemakers:

Norsk Knivforening (The Norwegian Knife Assotiation): http://www.norskkniv.no/linker.htm

    Hobbyportalen: http://www.kniv.net
(Here is our friend Trond Pedersen, as well.)

Greetings from the North! .......... Senad

Oh, I almost forgot to put this link of Handmade-Knives.com from Scandinavia.

    http://handmade-knives.com/index3.htm

Here we can find a great number of the famous Danish, Swedish and Norwegian knifemakers.

    Cheers! ........ Senad

How about taking the makers and making a sticky that you can add to.
Hankala is just great I use his Tommi Knives in several sizes. He seems to get better with time,as where some reach an early plateau and that is it. He offers entry level pieces so his work can be seen and you then can decide if his style meets your needs. I keep a standard 3.75" blade Tommi on my desk for what ever I need it for during the day. I have found the Smiths in genenal very easy to deal with and usually let them go their direction after looking at a trial piece.

    Be well

Good idea, Floyd. I was waiting until we had a good number of suggestions to list them all alphabetically, edit them into the first post in this thread, and stick it at the head of the forum.
