    I have another German knife I am helping a friend sell. This Hubertus has an odd blade configuration at its base. Anybody know what it is callled. My collection is more classic, Case, Buck, etc. Not too familiar with the more expensive stuff! Thanks.

    Hi,

    I have one of those I bought new from the Knifeshop in Austria a few "year" back.

    Mine has an etch on the blade that calls it a Brotzeitmesser which I think has to do with bread. I think the unusual guard is meant to be a cap lifter
