I am looking for suggestions on what I should be using before and after said stone? I appologize in advance since this question is the result of too much forum time... meaning right now I am using dmt c king 1200 naniwa ss 5k, kitayama 8 or 10k (mine is labeled as ice bear 10k) and then i strop using chromium oxide on a piece of balsa wood but i am very happy with this set up and I have the bald arms to prove it lol . I did get a dmt xxc from amazon for a good deal ($69 shipped) since I dont have lots of resources in my hands I am asking the forum who has every stone known to man and has tried countless combos ... so I guess the short question is.... is there any worthwhile upgrades in plain sight ?

i think most of the people would go with aoto synthetic 2000-3000 and arashiyama 6k/takenoko 8k.
that is if i am not wrong

I recently upgraded from a Norton 1k to a Bester 1200 and I'm really pleased with the result. If the King 1200 is about on the same lines as the Norton, then that might make a significant difference in your line up. I haven't used the King, so I can't say for sure.

As for the Takenoko mentioned above, it's a great stone and I love mine. I'm not sure how you feel about your 5K SS, but it may not be necessary depending on how your transition is going between it and the Ice Bear. If you need something in between, then the Takenoko would be a great pick.

i really like my 5k and dont seem to have any trouble oing to the kitayama but I just thought I would ask if i am missing something.. as for the king I relly kinda like its feel idk why

Sounds to me as though you have a pretty well spaced lineup already. If you want to get luxurious, and have some extra cash to burn, you could eventually upgrade to a Chocera 10k. Awesome stone, but very expensive (around $200 atm). Not something you "need" for sure, but very nice and fun to work with.
