February 2002, Bradford, PA – W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company,
the most recognized knife brand in America, announces the return of the
legendary Cheetah following over 20-years hiatus of this stylish and functional
model.
“Case enthusiasts have been asking
for the Cheetah for years and we’re really excited to re-introduce it,”
said John Sullivan, Marketing Director for W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery. “The
unique design of this knife makes the Cheetah a legend in the Case line.
The Cheetah is expected to be one of our biggest sellers in 2002.”
This new knife, measuring 4 3/8” closed and weighing in at a mere 3.5
ounces, is being made available in three popular handle materials: a casual
Pocket Worn® Black Bone, a rich Cranberry Bone with a Silver Script
shield and the old-fashioned Vintage Bone. The blade is a highly polished
Tru-Sharp™ surgical steel clip
blade configuration donning an intricate etching of the graceful cheetah
and a special swing guard that adds both style and safety to the knife.
The Cheetah’s extra swing guard feature is seldom seen on Case knives.
The anatomy of the guard itself consists of two pieces of stainless steel
metal on either side of the blade that, when locked into place, prevents
one’s hand from slipping down onto the blade providing added security. The
“swing” characteristic is necessary so the guard shifts with the knife becoming
parallel with the blade when closed.
W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co. has been making high quality knives since
1889. The most popular collectable brand in America, Case continues to make
its knives the old-fashioned way – by hand. For more information, call 800-523-6350
